St. PetersburgHomeIn March 2006, Dr. Veronika Krasheninnikova was appointed St. Petersburg's Representative in the United States by the city's Governor Valentina Matvienko. As St. Petersburg's representative, Ms. Krasheninnikova is responsible for the coordination of business, trade, economic, hospitality and tourism programs between the city of St. Petersburg and the US. In that capacity, she deals with US corporations in the financial, manufacturing, hi-tech, infrastructure, hospitality and tourism and other sectors, interacts with the media and makes public presentations to promote the city of St. Petersburg. In November 2006, St. Petersburg Business Information Center in the United States was opened in the premises of CTEC in New York. The opening of the Center reflected the new prominence St. Petersburg has acquired over the past few years, and the growing interest in potential opportunities found in St. Petersburg on behalf of the American business community. The Center's mission is to facilitate greater economic cooperation between the United States and St. Petersburg, to provide solid reliable information about the business environment and opportunities in St. Petersburg, to coordinate exchange of experience and best practices in municipal governing, to assist and coordinate business, cultural, tourism and charity projects and programs, and advise on all other activities which promote the city of St. Petersburg in the United States. |
