New York, November 1 - 7, 2007: St.Petersburg Business and Cultural Mission to New York. This series of events celebrates the 200th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the United States of America. To demonstrate its vibrant cultural life, the City of St.Petersburg is pleased to offer these performances by leading artists in opera, jazz and contemporary art:

New York, December 10-15, 2006: The Council hosted a delegation of high-level government representatives from St. Petersburg. The purpose of the visit was to learn from New York City experience and best practices, and to offer their own in the areas of information technologies and telecommunications, law enforcement, emergency situations management and antiterrorism efforts. This exchange unfolds in the framework of the dialogue initiated by St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matvienko and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg last February. More...
New York, September 2006: CTEC, together with St.Petersburg's administration, organized the first ever press-trip to St.Petersburg for editors and writers of top U.S. travel publications: Luxury Travel Advisor, Modern Agent, Cruise & Vacation Agent, Travel Agent, Home Based Travel Agent, Travel Weekly, Avid Cruiser Magazine, Hospitality Design Magazine, Travel World News, Jax Fax Magazine, and also The Washington Times and New York Daily News. The participants met with Governor Valentina Matvienko, the City's tourism industry representatives, visited the most spectacular sites of St.Petersburg.
New York, May 2006: The Council welcomed journalists from the U.S. and international travel media for a luncheon discussion launching the promotion of St.Petersburg as a premier tourist destination. The luncheon was hosted and catered by Petrossian, 182 West 58th Street, and attended by editors and writers from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, New York Daily News, Newsweek, Forbes, Conde Nast Traveler, Bloomberg, Gourmet, Town & Country, Travel & Leisure, Travelocity, Travel Agent Magazine, Executive Travel, The Affluent Traveler, and others. St.Petersburg seeks to become one of the top five tourist destinations in Europe, joining London, Paris, Rome and Amsterdam, and the luncheon for tourism press marked the successful beginning of an ambitious global campaign to promote tourism in Saint Petersburg, Russia's gateway to the West.
New York, February 2006: CTEC organized a series of business meetings for Governor of St.Petersburg Valentina Matvienko during her official visit to New York. CTEC coordinated the Governor's meetings with the leaders of major U.S. corporations: Morgan Stanley, AIG, Citigroup, organized a luncheon with top executives of 25 major U.S. companies, including Alcoa, PepsiCo, Estee Lauder, Wrigley, Lazard Kaplan International, etc. To promote further promotion of St.Petersburg as a major tourist destination, the Council organized a meeting with more than 30 leading hospitality industry groups.
