New York, November 1 - 7, 2007. The Business and Cultural Mission of St-Petersburg in New York. This visit celebrates the 200th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the United States of America. Its objective is to demonstrate the best examples of St.Petersburg culture, stimulate interest to Russian arts, classic and contemporary, strengthen relations between St.Petersburg and New York. Washington D.C., April 11, 2007: The Council for Trade and Economic Cooperation (USA-CIS) partnered with BISNIS/U.S. Commercial Service to create a forum aimed at informing, introducing and engaging the U.S. and Eurasian business communities. St.Petersburg, September 23-27, 2006: CTEC, together with the city's administration, organized the first ever press-trip to St.Petersburg for editors and writers of top U.S. travel publications: Luxury Travel Advisor, Modern Agent, Cruise &Vacation Agent, Travel Agent, Home Based Travel Agent, Travel Weekly, Avid Cruiser Magazine, Hospitality Design Magazine, Travel World News, Jax Fax Magazine, and also The Washington Times and New York Daily News. The participants met with Governor Valentina Matvienko, the city's tourism industry representatives, visited the most spectacular sites of St.Petersburg.

New York, April 6, 2006: CTEC, in partnership with BISNIS, U.S. Commerce Department, hold a major seminar "Financing Deals in Eurasia". More than 100 people from a wide range of financial and business institutions participated in a half day discussion that addressed financial and business opportunities and developments in the CIS and identified sources for financial resources to support exports and investments in the region. The seminar proved to be an excellent forum for exchanging information on the whole spectrum of banking, investment and financial needs and showcasing the dynamic business opportunities presented in Eurasia. St.Petersburg, March 2006: Veronika Krasheninnikova, President of the Council for Trade and Economic Cooperation (USA-CIS) was appointed the Representative of St. Petersburg in the United States by the City's Governor Valentina Matvienko. The responsibilities of the representative are to coordinate business, tourism and cultural projects and programs between the city of St. Petersburg and companies and organizations in the United States, as well as to interact with the media and make public presentations about the many business opportunities St. Petersburg offers.
Moscow, March 3, 2006. Council for Trade and Economic Cooperation (Russia-USA) and the Foundation for Business Development, International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ICIE), have signed a partnership agreement. The agreement provides a framework for joint efforts in designing and implementing international business projects and programs.
New York, February 28, 2006: CTEC organized a series of business meetings for Governor of St.Petersburg Valentina Matvienko during her official visit to New York. CTEC coordinated the Governor's meetings with the leaders of major U.S. corporations: Morgan Stanley, AIG, Citigroup, organized a luncheon with top executives of 25 major U.S. companies, including Alcoa, PepsiCo, Estee Lauder, Wrigley, Lazard Kaplan International, etc. To promote further promotion of St.Petersburg as a major tourist destination, The Council organized a meeting with more than 30 leading hospitality industry groups.
New York, January 23, 2006: CTEC (USA-CIS) signs a landmark Cooperation Agreement with Vnesheconombank (VEB). VEB and CTEC will work together on finding, developing and implementing investment projects in Russia with foreign capital and in the United States with Russian capital.
